| Hey, are you folks as excited as I am today? Uno the beagle won the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show last night! YEAH, UNO! UNO RULES! Like many people all over the country, I hosted a huge Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show party at my place last night. I hooked up my 27" analog TV and bought lots of beer, RC Cola, nachos and Milk Bones (they're surprisingly good and go well with French onion dip!). I invited the whole neighborhood over to join me. Well, nobody showed up, but that was okay. More RC for me! Of course I've been rooting for Uno throughout the entire dog show season. I had heard the talk around the water coolers, and I knew most people didn't think he had a chance at winning it all... in fact, if I had to use a canine-related word to describe his situation, I would probably say he was the "beneathdog!" But I thrilled as he made his way through the dog show playoffs, defeating dogs twice his size and dogs with many more years' experience in sitting up and rolling over. Last night, Uno proved all the naysayers (and nay-woofers!) wrong by becoming the first beagle ever to win best in show, in a glorious surprise upset! He's the top dog! He may have been dog tired from working like a dog, but if every dog has his day, today is Uno's day! He won, doggone it! When his opponents heard the announcement, they were walking on all fours! Ha ha! Early this morning I rushed out (with my face still painted in Uno colors -- black and white and brown, baby!) to buy some Uno merchandise. I was looking for a baseball cap or a sweatshirt or a fanny pack with some kind of "UNO 2008 WORLD CHAMPION" logo on it. I guess I just wasn't looking at the right stores, because I didn't find any, but I'm sure it'll turn up. (I thought I saw a family card game endorsed by Uno on the shelves, but it was unrelated.) Also, just now I put in a bid on eBay for a Ziploc bag containing some of Uno's fleas! I wasn't sure about the auction at first, but the item comes with a "Certificate of Arf-enticity," so I'm pretty sure it's legit. So what did you guys do for Westminster Tuesday?
